Getting Organized, The First Step
Organization is an over-looked process that many seem to skip over. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way. Being organized will save you so much time, you can’t even imagine.
Once upon a time, I was transferring a domain name, but unfortunately I forgot the password for the original domain registrar. Since password recovery was not an option, I had to supply a lot of personal information to get my password back. This all could have prevented with organization.
A few years later down the road, I am now fully organized and keep everything in my little black notebook I have next to my PC. I write all my usernames and passwords in this book. Your usernames can all stay the same. This can help you build a reputation for the various forums you visit. Your passwords, however, should be different. If one person finds out your password for one account, then all your other accounts can be kissed goodbye as well.
The next step to organization is clearing up clutter around your desk space. You will be surpised how much this can help. I find that I work much better when I have a clean area and less clutter. I even went out to Staples and bought some desk organizers so I am able to sort my papers, mail, etc.
Giving yourself a clean environment to work in can really do wonders for you! Try to get organized now before you start anything, instead of trying organize all the clutter you already created. You won’t be sorry!
